Cuevas PUB
Through children’s books and illustrated projects, my work explores culture, imagination, and belonging. Each publication is rooted in care for young readers and the communities they come from—honoring curiosity, joy, and the power of seeing yourself reflected on the page.

Children's Literature
I am a children’s book author and illustrator who creates stories that center curiosity, culture, and emotional honesty. My work blends illustration, narrative, and lived experience to invite young readers into worlds where imagination is a tool for understanding themselves and others.
Whether through playful visuals or quiet moments on the page, my goal is to create books that feel affirming, thoughtful, and alive—stories children return to again and again.
Coloring Books
I create children’s books that value curiosity, cultural memory, and emotional intelligence—stories made to be felt as much as they are read.

La Familia Espinoza vs. The Fiery Frijoles From Outer Space
La Famila Espinoza are a family of Mexican Bean Beetles that live in a nopal (cactus). They are navigating the world loving their family, learning lessons, and growing their understanding of self and society. Together they will live, learn, and grow. In this adventure Mijo Espinoza learns how to face his fear of spicy food. Papi Espinoza is making his famous frijoles, but he plans on adding a little spice. Mijo is scared of how spicy it will be. Mami and Mija Espinoza help Mijo overcome that fear. Follow all of the adventures of La Familia Espinoza in this series of books by artist/storyteller Ernesto Cuevas, Jr.

Coloring Consciousness: Reflective Illustrations by Artist Ernesto Cuevas, Jr.
This is a collection of original illustrations by Mexican-American/Chicano artist Ernesto Cuevas, Jr. These illustrations are meant to evoke critical consciousness around topics of identity, culture, ancestry, community, youth, and education. My hope is that these coloring pages will bring people of all ages and backgrounds together by creating space for artistic expression, dialogue, and reflection.
